Moving to Wellington, New Zealand - advice on neighbourhoods and schools

There is a possibility that DH, DD and I could be moving to New Zealand for my husband's work. If it happens, it may well happen very quickly. DD has just started in reception here in the UK, so we would be looking to get her into school for end January when the new year starts in NZ.

Can anyone give any insight into different neighbourhoods in Wellington? We would be renting a house/flat and DH would be working in the CBD. We would want a good, nurturing school for DD who is active and outgoing. TIA!
