Can be
Can also be shite
Too many people dream about it without considering the reality of living in places where you can't speak the LANGUAGE AND PEOPLE DON'T CARE TWO HOOTS ABOUT YOU.

i'VE LIVED ABROAD MOST OF MY LIFE (oops) and the older i get,the more I want to be at home in Wales.

Wouldn´t live in England for anything. Always shocked by the state of things when I go home on holiday. Education and health facilities are shocking, the food is poor and all people talk about is their boring houses and how hard they work and how badly done to they are. You can´t go out at night because of the drunks and disgusting behaviour on the streets.

Living abroad (in my experience) is a thoroughly civilised and happy lifestyle, even if language problems may raise their heads occasionally.

I´m on to my 3rd country in Western Europe. And speak 4 languages, which definitel helps. I`ve met very few expats who don´t much prefer it on the continent so I´m not alone here!

How are things in Turkey? DO u speak Turkish?

Wouldnt live abroad again for all the tea in china!

UK is the place to be.

In Italy the

beauracracy was hell
tax was 40%
nothing to do in winter
really really hot in summer
The Tuscans were hard work
Very small minded people in our village
Central heating was sooooo expensive

Never ever ever again. i love England.

I like Turkey.
We live in a v v remote part-only about 20 foreigners in a city of over a million,so no expat scene, which is a good thing!
I can get by,I had lessons for over a year.

bit of a wide topic.

I mean living in Iraq is probably a bit rubbish but Cayman Islands maybe bit better.

I lived in Greece for 6 years and loved it, mostly. Always nice to come home though.

British have the best sense of humour in the world.
I so miss it when i am away.

collision · 15/05/2006 13:56

exactly MD.

Do you get back to the UK much?

Report
P45 · 15/05/2006 13:57

Got to disagree Moondog, you prefer the British soh because you understand it. It´s just difficult to tap into the foreign sense of humours. I love having English people to stay because we just click and have a real howl.

I was in Japan Moondog. I'd love to live in Scandinavia for a bit, not anywhere hot. But it won't happen. Ah well dreaming is good for the soul.
