Marking my spot.

I might be getting cats. DH has relented. Now just got to persuade landlord who said it was ok when I talked about 1 that 2 is ok.

I want wine.

(Again, I'm so very sorry vvv, I'd blame AB for keeping me locked in the basement, but feel that wouldn't be very fair)

I'm not ignoring any of you btw, I'm just on very very limited Internet. As in none so I'm using 3G. I'll pop in occasionally but won't be able to post much until we pay the bill get Internet back.

4 month old twins. Lovely! Lucky you. isn't broody at all, not even a little bit, well maybe just a teeny bit...

No worries at all xMinerva, happens to the best of us!

I nearly got a kitten the other day, two of them in fact because they were identical to my old cat. Thankfully sense prevailed Grin

I think we found a house! From the very limited pool of rentals that will allow us to have a dog....... It's the right sort of size, in a lovely lovely road in an area called Matua literally a stones throw from the park and the beach. It's all woody inside, which I don't like but it doesn't matter as I will just hang every painting we have and hope I stop seeing the walls! But most excellently of all, it has a huge garage and I have always always always wanted my very own workshop, now it looks like I will get one! Yaaaay! But we haven't been given the green light just yet, landlord has to approve us, hopefully tomorrow. And then we can move in on the 1st march. Am going to see if there's a link to it.....

Ooh, big house and near the sea! some Nz houses are just very woody, it's not that unusual.

Haha, too bloody fertile - the twins are hard work but gorgeous, honest! (And thanks justa, I'm not very lovely currently though, with Not-at-all-DH working overseas, I'm a screaming banshee some most of the time)

artfulsoapdodger Are you getting that extra govt help for mums of multiples? Some friends of mine with twins used it for cleaners/babysitters etc.

theartfulsoapdodger · 19/02/2013 06:46

Ooh nice house! Very woody, true, but at least the bathrooms are nice. Very important in a rented house where you can't change things IMHO.

vvviola · 19/02/2013 06:55

Frik - I reckon you'll be a lot less worried about the woodiness of it once there's some furniture in it. I think it's lovely.

Theartfulsoapdodger, I can imagine twins must be hard work. But still, how lovely Grin you must come and meet up with us some day. And if it's one of my child-free days, I'll even assist in twin cuddling any excuse to cuddle a teeny baby Grin

Yes I got the grant to pay for a nanny over the summer as my son was still under 5, gosh WINZ are fun to deal with. But it was good to get the help, don't think I'd have got that in the uk!

Aw thanks vvviola, I'll look forward to it! Definitely up for meetups before the twins start running off in opposite directions

Yes my friend used the twin grant to employ someone to come and sit with her twins while she went round the supermarket/shops for a couple of hours a week. She said being able to to just walk round by herself now and again kept her sane!

Report
theartfulsoapdodger · 19/02/2013 07:22

Yes it's an absolute lifesaver, I'm managing more time to myself this time than with my single babies (since I express for them mostly, tandem bf way too hard!) so I am still mostly sane!
