KL thread

I know there are a few of us in KL, thought it might be an idea to have a running thread for various things we have questions about.

The one that made me think of it this morning is furniture. Other than IKEA, does anyone know of decent but cheap furniture in KL?

Another thing that has baffled us for ages - sausages. Can't find good ones anywhere, every non-halal butcher we've tried has horrible, tasteless sausages. Has anyone found any good ones?

Can't help with the furniture, ours is a fully furnished flat. Ikea is where I go to get bits. I live about 10-80 minutes drive away. Harvey Norman has a sale on at the moment, I saw that when I was at Ikea yesterday.
I got some acceptable Nurnberger/Nerumburger sausages from the sinful area of our local supermarket.

10-80! That's KL!

I'm looking for some kind of toy chest.

Nurnberger?

Something like that. They are a rather unappetizing white with grey speckles. We used to eat them in Swizerland, I think they are german originally.
Toy chest? no idea. My DD is more interested in her growing chesticles.

I've seen some with a union jack on. Not sure they'd fit the bill. I'll have a proper look at them the next time I'm in Giant/village grocer.

Had a thought, get me. Have you looked in either chinatown or brickfields for a wooden box?

That's a good shout. Someone else said maybe one of those teak shops? I'll take a look, thanks. Tried both VG and Giant for sausages, no joy. The one on BSC (is it Jason's) is the best we've found so far, but still not quite there.

Thanks rip. :)

What is VSC? sounds very exotic.
How I long for the days of ski 75/3 and the pie man. I used to go once a month and fill my freezer with pies, sausages and bacon.
Really odd set up, he was from Barnsley, relocated to Bangkok and supplied the pubs and hotels with British products. The meat was obviously Thai, but the taste was all English.
