Did anyone manage to get a fast house sale? Especially in Scotland?

That's it really. We are trying to sell our house fast and are wondering if anyone here has any advice as I am sure many of you had to sell quickly if you were moving abroad.

Thanks

I sold a flat in central Edinburgh in a matter of weeks. It went on sale in the last week of Feb, and sold late March, with entry date June 1st. I knocked 10k off the price, though, as I was in a hurry...

Few years ago but we sold our flat within a few days by making it fixed price.

Do you mean getting a buyer or the paperwork? Our house was advertised over a weekend and sold on the Monday afternoon without having to compromise on the price.

We live fairly clutter-free but I put lots of effort in getting it ready for photos and viewings (luckily only had one day of viewings!) but it was well worth it

Thanks for the replies. I don't have a link to the house as it's not advertised yet. Just wondering how people went about getting their house sold quickly - did anyone use a "fast sale" website or auction or is it best just making it fixed price for what you actually want.

The problem just now is that there are 4 houses for sale in our street just now (and it's a small street) with one of them being a repossession so it's a 3 bed detached wanting £110,000! There is nothing wrong with it and it's worth around £135,000 at the moment so people are a bit Hmm at why it is such a low asking price. The 2 bed semis are looking for £119,000 and getting no interest due to this 3 bed being so cheap. It also looks awful there are suddenly 4 houses for sale at the same time but it's a coincidence - there's been very few houses for sale in our street over the past few years but the couple that were sold recently were on the market for around 8months to a year :(

Meant to say thanks for the replies and it looks like it's best to try lowering the asking price, making it fixed price and going for it. At least that way we can leave it on the market for a bit as we have about 10 months or so to get it sold... Scary.
