Sydney meet up before we leave!

Hello all. We are due to leave Sydney on the 29th March (sob!) and I was thinking it would be fab to meet up with people one last time before I leave. Would anyone be up for it? We have pretty much no firm plans between now and going, so any time suits me!

Can I join in? Grin

Definitely but it needs to be sooner rather than later from my POV as I'm hoping to go back to the UK on 1st March for another holiday - but I'm pretty free between now and then! only constraints are:
last Saturday in Jan = dance school registration
possibly the last weekend in Feb might be out as it's the nearest to MIL's 70th birthday.

Are we talking childless and weekendy, or something else?

Seymore - course you can! :)

Fab! How about aiming for some time mid-feb? Would be up for either child- free or plus children.

Ok, how about anyone else? Will that be ok for you, abithormonal, will you be mobile by then?

Was just going to bump our old meet up thread eralc as thought it would be nice to see you before you go, and then I spotted you'd started this Smile

I'm away the weekend of the 11th/12th Feb (at a conference in Perth without DS for the first time eek!), and I seem to have lots of busy Sundays coming up, so a Saturday would suit me better

I'd prefer child free, as plus children just seems to require too much toddler herding and not enough wine drinking Wink abit can bring her DS2 so we can all squish him though Grin

OK, that suits me - I'm fine with mobile-child-free if everyone else is! Saturdays also good, except the 28th Jan as mentioned already. So - that gives us options of:
4th Feb
18th Feb
25th Feb (not sure about this one because of MIL's 70th looming on the 27th)

Takers please?

Ok, when I said I was free on Saturdays I was clearly on another planet!! Can only do the 25th as I'm busy on the 4th and the 18th

Could do Sun 19th though, if that's any good

I can do any of those dates at the moment. Child free has the benefit of me not having to bring ds2 along (he has a major death wish at the moment and also isn't much keen on the pushchair!)

Right - well if Sun 19th is good for everyone so far, it's better for me than 25th (just in case) - so can we mark that as the tentative date? And everybody take your vitamins, wear facemasks etc. so no one is ill! Grin (me included, obviously)

The 19th is fine with me. Same place, the Opera Bar?

I shall bring the squishy DS2 and leave behind manic DS1

Would be good to see you seymour

Woohoo! I can make the 19th! I haven't been to the Opera Bar yet, and with a squishy baby thrown in, it sounds perfect!

Congrats abit!

Opera Bar is always a winner - lunchtime as usual? (12:30ish anyway)

Eralc · 18/01/2012 21:22

Have put it on the calendar!

Yep, I can be there at 12:30. Do you have to reserve a table or can you just turn up?

Report
Thumbwitch · 20/01/2012 07:58

We usually just turn up, Seymore. But it might be an idea to reserve a table this time, one with shade, as it would be better for the squishy baby. :) what do you think, abit? Should we?

Seymore - will PM you with mobile number - you'll probably need it :)

Report
bunnygirl80 · 20/01/2012 08:16

Don't think you can reserve tables at Opera Bar. If potential lack of shade is a big issue then we could meet somewhere else instead? Although given the weather so far this summer we're more likely to need protection from the rain than the sun Grin

Report
Thumbwitch · 20/01/2012 09:53

True! Grin
Abit, over to you - will shade be a requirement?

Report
abithormonal · 20/01/2012 14:40

I forgot about the sun this summer's been so unenthusiastic, I was thinking more that there was no way I could sit on those stools and breast feed. However if we can't get a shady table we can go inside, the views not so great but a bit more secluded for wapping my baps out.

Grin - I agree, inside should be fine. It's not like you can see a whole lot over the barriers anyway so the view isn't a major issue (is it?)

I've seen that bridge before when I went to Newcastle (uk), and that white thing is just odd looking.

5am and on the second shift of the night

everyone still doing ok? still booked for 19th Feb? just checking (that's if we're not all washed away by then! Grin)
