Who fancies a meet up? It's school hols for us at the moment, but how about when the kids go back to school?

We need a location too - we have had Ikea and I think some of you met up at Go Wild in Strathpine too, should we go for more central Brisvegas this time?

Who fancies a coffee? or maybe something stronger??

Chloe you'd know better than me! I know that there is a big kids park at Chermside but tbh we don't go into Brissie that often - mostly museum/GOMA or big events like Riverfire.

I took the kids to Go Wild last week. They were pleased to have a run around without bark chippings everywhere!

Just wondered about central as Naetha doesn't have transport yet plus I know there are a few of us around Wilston. Errrmm....will do some research!

I do have transport - I have use of a car and a go card!

Sorry sounded a bit desperate there! I'm very flexible - will go anywhere and try (within reason!) anything!.

Based in Indooroopilly but have been as far north as North Lakes and as far south as Surfer's Paradise so far :)

Oh thank god Chloe. Didn't want to do the whole slag off thing but the dc were all 'wow biggest soft play in Australia' and then we went in.

It was roughly the same size as every soft play place we ever went to in the UK. Confused

Am easy as to dates/places, Chloe what days are you working? Have you seen Gotobed recently?

I can get to New Farm Park pretty easily, or there's a fantasic playground on Roghan Rd, Fitzgibbon/Taigum. It's brand new and about the same size as the New Farm Park one although not as well shaded.

My kids are nearly 2 and nearly 4 - DS will be going to Kindy in January.

We've just put in an application for a house in Ferny Hills if anyone lives out that way?

G'day!! Just been reading a 'should we move to aus ?' thread & thought I should check out living overseas - glad I did! I am keen - can still only manage Monday or Tuesday and will have 2.5 dd with me but will go anywhere.
Naetha I have a friend near Ferny Grove & used to live out that way - I really like it. Hope you're getting on ok & the move went fairly smoothly for you.

Naetha, I'm in The Gap so will be just down the road from you!

Okey dokey, Monday or Tuesday then - 10th/11th any good?

As most of us are northsiders is it worth thinking about kidspace at Chermside?

Yes and yes from me

Lol I'm afraid I can't make either of those dates as they're the dates we're moving in and all our stuff arrives! Other than that, I'm free though!

Report
Naetha · 27/09/2011 06:35

Ooh no scrub that, our stuff arrives the week after, but it's the 8th we get the keys to our new place.

So can almost definitely do the tuesday :)

I am not sure what or when or where I am working that week... long story.. but count me in and I shall attempt to be there! Ideally tuesday?

Okey dokey - Tuesday 11th then?

Right - venues.

Kidspace at Chermside - big play area but no coffee

Go wild at Strathpine - a tad expensive for what it is, but easy play area and coffee easily available

Chermside shopping centre - there is that little bounce place near the cinema/cafe on top level.

Any where else?

REALLY.... NO COFFEE.... (faints in shock) .... not there then.....

Strathpine may freak my 3 yr old on his own... cant take 9 year old out of school just to accompany him!

So I put my hand up for Chermside then....

mostly as the word cafe.. equates to coffee..

Report
MrsDistinctlyMintyMonetarism · 29/09/2011 23:09

Sorry Chloe

Kidspace is really just a big park/adventure thing, so is a}fab b}free but the lack of coffee is the major downage. {not a word}

Chermy it is unless GotoBed has any other ideas?

Chermy it is then. Now, the bouncy bit is attached to a coffee shop but I don't think we can actually take our coffee inside. There is also a small play area at the other end of the shopping centre (by the food court) which is next to a coffee shop, and there are usually tables close enough to supervise the littlies - so I would vote to go there unless anyone else has a preference?

I'm off to New Farm Park with the husband and kids (nearly 2 and nearly 4) for a bit of a BBQ if anyone fancies coming along? We'll be there from 10am. My number is 0423 530744 if you fancy meeting up.

Hi everyone, sorry I missed you yesterday naetha, how was the BBQ? I have heard good things about new farm park. Is everyone still on for Tuesday? Shall we say 10.30?

Report
Naetha · 10/10/2011 05:41

No probs, was just a spur of the moment thing :)

Just to confirm we're meeting at a soft play centre inside Chermdide shopping centre, tomorrow at 10:30. Where exavtly is it in the shopping centre?

Hi there, yes as long as 10.30 is ok with everyone else? The play area is down the far end of the shopping centre (head for woolworths when parking car) - it's where all the sushi bars and coffee shops are. It's the opposite end to the main food court - so if you find yourself by macdonalds etc that's the wrong one. There is a bouncy castle play area outside the cinemas but I don't think we'll be allowed to take coffees in there and there are no tables only chairs to sit round the edge. If anyone else has any preferences though please say! I will be recognisable by my purple pushchair and will try and bag a table right by the play area so we can sit down and supervise at the same time!
