Where to find a housekeeper/nanny in Paris?

Hello,

We are a family with two children -6 and 3 years old- relocating to Paris at the end of August. I have read in other posts of the forum that a housekeeper/afterschool nanny is a popular option in terms of childcare in France. I wonder if there is anyone out there who could share their experiences and advise me in the best way to get this sort of staff i.e. agencies, online sites, etc. and the sort of money you are looking at.

Thank you very much in advance :)

Hi,

I don't have a huge amount of advice to offer (I'm in Paris but I don't have a housekeeper/nanny) but www.fusac.fr could be worth looking at. It's a magazine for Anglophones in Paris, you can view the whole thing online and there are lots of ads from people looking for nannies, looking at them could give an idea of average price/hours/conditions etc. There might also be some agency ads in there I think.

Good luck!

sent a long message earlier but it has disappeared (?). Don't have time to retype but the gist of it was, join Message Paris, a member-run organisation here that has lots of info. and discussion forums on this type of thing.*
There is a join fee of 70 euros or so but I'd say it is worth it.
