Ideas for part time work overseas

Hello

I am sure this question has been asked a million times. What work can I do overseas that will be portable? So far I have thought of TEFL and interior design.

Anyone other ideas/experience?

It really depends on your qualifications and experience. Eg if you are a qualified nurse/teacher/office worker etc, then that is pretty much portable. It might depend on whether you need a specific visa to be able to work in the place you are living.
The internet also opens up work opportunities - in my case, I live overseas and work for a company in another country entirely, with all our communication done via email and skype.

TEFL it really depends where you're going and the quality of teaching companies varies hugely. You may want decent pay and cconditions but in many places you'll be competing against young backpacker types with a TEFL certificate who undercut you and will work insane hours as the company wants.

Registered professions like nursing or teaching aren't necessarily that portable either as you'd have to reregister in the new country, unless you were teaching in an international school.

I've seen people on here mention beauty therapy, hairdressing, yoga or Pilates teaching. If you're in an area with a lot of SAHM expats then children's classes - Jo Jingles type thing or baby yoga - could be popular but you'd have to check insurance requirements.

If you are fluent in your local language you could do translations... Takes a while to set up a client base but good thing is its totally flexible re hours (if you have young children).
