Try Stayz.com.au a good website I have used them often and stayed at a stayz property when we relocated to Melbourne.

HI,

We used rentahome when we lived in Sydney and had family coming to stay but there were too many of them for us to put them up.

There are also a lot of serviced apartments, mainly one and two bedroom but have sofabed in living room, in the hotels in the city centre if you look on google. There are some in the Rocks area but it would depend on your budget.

Wotif.com sometimes have good deals on holiday apartments as well (there are lots around Darling Harbour which is central and a good place to stay with kids). We stayed at Breakfree on George when we came over on a reccie before we moved here (family of 5, but the 2 bed apartment slept 6). If at all possible avoid Australian school holidays - you can get the term dates on the NSW dept of education website. Oh, I just remembered the Hyde Park Inn (not the Hyde Park Plaza) has family rooms that sleep six with a little kitchenette and balconies overlooking Hyde park - you are all in one room though so probably not great for more than a few nights.

Just google serviced apartments in sydney. we stayed in a one-bed on the edge of darling harbour, in a building that had studios to three-bed apts all with kitchen and laundry facilities and were very comfortable. Theres plenty to choose from and have better facilities and are more reasonably priced than a hotel.
