Dad has prostate cancer(1 Post)
My dad has being diagnosed with prostate cancer. Gleason score of 9 so fairly fast growing. Luckily?? It seems to be confined to the prostate. They have decided his best option is surgery which he will be having in December. My question is how to best support him?
We live 200 miles away so can't be there but obv I want to help as much as possible. He lives with my mum but she doesn't really do much. I know that sounds horrible but she barely cooks, or cleans. They have pets and she doesn't help with them at all. The dr has told him he will need to rest obviously after the surgery and that recovery will be at least 6 weeks.
He is normally a very active man who walks miles everyday, plays golf etc. Being stuck inside is his worst nightmare. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to keep him entertained during this time and how to make sure he eats well etc when my mum hardly cooks.
