Have posted a bit over the last few months regarding stomach pain and associated problems. Have had a couple of hospital admissions and lots of tests. Just went for my pre- colonoscopy/endoscopy assessment and it sounds like there’s a good chance I have bowel cancer. Should have my appointment through in the next few days/couple of weeks.
I knew it was down to IBS/BC or another thing but it looks like they’re leaning towards IBS/BC. I’m hoping it’s IBS but not especially confident.
Life has been going really well recently and I have two small children so it seems like Sod’s law. (Though I know that’s ridiculous)
Anyway. Just offloading. No need to reply.

Didn't want to leave you without a hand to hold.
I don't have any experience of bowel cancer. Oddly, with my cancer diagnosis, it was sort of all 'better' somehow once I did have a diagnosis, and a plan of what they were going to do. Waiting and wondering seem to be the most difficult part.

Thank you both, you’re very kind. Gave myself five minutes in the bathroom to cry earlier and I think I’ll fall apart after the kids go to bed.
The waiting is the worst. If I knew then I could make a plan or move on. This is just torture.

Fingers crossed for you that it's IBS. I've got stage IV bowel cancer myself. There's a few of us on the cancer support thread here if you'd like to chat. Anyone who is having tests for cancer is welcome :)

OP my DH was diagnosed with BC nearly eighteen months ago. He had a bowel resection by keyhole. It was by no means a walk in the park but he made good progress and is living a full and active life. He has regular check ups and all is going well.

The wait for the diagnostic colonoscopy wasn't easy but he was told straight away by the surgeon that it was BC and then had a follow meeting a few days later to talk through the treatment plan.

Thanks so much all. I’m glad that your DH is doing well Penfold.

Leslie, thank you, I’ll pop over there too.

As predicted, as soon as the kids were in bed I fell apart. DH is being great though and he’s giving me lots of cuddles tonight.
