i'm awaiting a ct scan, (tuesday) then have to wait for results, the waiting is stressing me out. i was sent to a&e on tuesday by my gp, had a lump in my stomach for a while but it's got a lot bigger, i had been to a gp before and was not examined he just said it's normal for people to get lumps and bumps every so often, so i left it at that, the hospital doctor said i have a mass in my stomach and nodules on my lung, also they said something has shown up in my bloods, i keep trying to eat but i feel full up all the time, if i have more than 2 mouthfulls of food it makes me sick.i'm so tired and just want to sleep,
i can't sleep as i'm a 24/7 carer for my daughter. i'm on my own as my husband died in april from cancer. (her step dad) it's so hard to face all this on my own.i have tried social services to try and get respite care but been told it's not possible as my daughter cannot be left on her own but doesn't meet criteria for respite. it's so stressful

Oh OP. I have no advice, really. I went through this with my Mum in December so I can imagine your fears. How old is DD? Do you have any friends or family nearby who are willing to help?

I'm listening, you're not alone and some more people will be along with advice soon.

Hi just wanted to give you some support and send a big hug. There is a great thread on the forum for members dealing with cancer, search for "the Lacies" and you should find it. Sorry I'm rubbish at links.

dd is 22 with lots of issues, i have my fil close by but i have to look after him as well, he's 89. my sons work full time and live about 70 miles away, i asked dd dad to help, his response wasn't good...... he said he's busy everyday, and if anything happens to me he will put dd in a home, he even phoned social services and asked them to start looking for a home for dd. he only sees dd once a year for a day, he says that's enough.

Have you been prescribed any anti sickness meds?

Twodogsandahooch Wed 21-Sep-16 20:43:13

Just seen your original post was 4 days ago. How long til you get your results? Thinking of you

stressedoutnfedup Wed 21-Sep-16 22:36:52

i was given anti sickness tablets, they don't work, went for scan yesterday, they made me drink water, i couldn't keep it down, i am waiting for my appointment now the for results, they said i should get appointment in the next 2 weeks, it's the waiting that's the worst part of it.

stressedoutnfedup Tue 27-Sep-16 19:39:50

i decided to phone the hospital today to find out how long the appointment will be, i gave them my hospital number off my scan letter, they asked me to repeat the number 4 times, it's not my hospital number, it's someone elses, no appointment can be made for me as they cannot find my scan or results, they cannot do the scan again as it was done with dye and i had a severe reaction to it, so now i have to wait for the doctors secretary to talk to the doctor to see what they can do.

Stress I can't begin to imagine how you are feeling about this news.

If you feel up to it I would raise this with pals, no one should have go through this. Mistakes happen but they should be told about this so they can learn from this.

I hope you are not left too long before the secretary contacts you.

Have been able to get any more support with your dd?

stressedoutnfedup Tue 27-Sep-16 20:52:50

the secretary said i have to wait to see if they can do scan without dye, if the doctor says yes then i have to wait for another scan appointment, then wait again for doctors appointment to get the results, so i'm no nearer getting answers as i was 2 weeks ago, i have to start over again,
as for getting support for my dd, i got told i'm coping so get on with it.

Hello stressed my husband has polycythaemia vera he was diagnosed sixteen years ago now but had had symptoms for years before that. For the last ten years he's been on chemotherapy tablets, they make him really tired occasionally but mostly he is fine. His was diagnosed after a bone marrow biopsy when routine blood tests showed abnormal blood levels. Hope you get the answers and any treatment you need quickly.

i found out i had pv by letter, i asked the gastro doctor if he could explain what it was but he just said you will find out eventually so i'm left worried, i'm so tired but not sure if it's the pv or because i can't eat properly, i can sleep the clock round but still feel tired.
