(1 Post)My sister has severe aplastic anaemia. She's been having regular blood transfusions but things are getting worse, she's just been transferred to another hospital to get specialist care. She going to be having her immune system suppressed to see if she will make new blood cells
If that fails (and they're not hopeful) she will need a bone marrow transplant. She has 3 siblings inclusive of myself but I'm pregnant so won't be allowed to donate.
Basically I want to hear any info possible about this condition-survivors, after transplant success rates, anything. She's 34 so not a younger person (better success rates).
Can anyone support me? I'm so worried about her
