Hi everyone, some will have seen my posts in biscuits' threads and I know lots of you have very kindly passed on the word about my stem cell donor search. But now I need a miracle: the leukaemia is back but this time in my central nervous system.

This is not only very rare, it's also really difficult to treat: chemo intravenously but also to the central nervous system via the ventricles of the brain. It's really unpleasant, though I shan't care if it manages to cure it.

My husband and parents last week were told to start preparing for the worst. However, one of the consultants wasn't happy and I've been referred for a second opinion to the Marsden in the hope they may be able to treat me.

I'm so scared but at the same time feeling hopeful that at least they haven't given up yet. Any prayers, candles, support, good vibes you can spare, please please please think of me tomorrow. I have two DC who need their mummy and so much to live for.

Hi Dashing. I am sorry you are facing this.

I'm on the Poncetastic thread and I saw you on Biscuits thread too. I shared your Perfect10Match site on Facebook yesterday (I'm Irish although not nearly as exotic a mix as you!) and I signed up to be a donor.

I really hope the Marsden can help you.

I'm so sorry to hear this DashingRedhead. Sending masses of positive thoughts your way. The treatment sounds pretty incredible really... It's truly amazing what can be done nowadays. The doctors know what they need to do, and although it will be a tough regime, hold onto the fact that they are doing it because it can work!

And while I'm here, a plea to everyone eligible to sign up for the universal donor register. Stem cell donation is pretty similar to blood donation nowadays, it just takes a little longer. I'm donating next month and its the single most important and amazing thing I'm ever likely to do in my life.

I'm really sorry DR that you are facing this battle. I have never seen you on MN before and have never interacted with you, but your post has made me cry. You are in my thoughts and prayers and I wish you well... thanks

Anyone got a link for the donor thing please?
