So, just before I met DH his mother was treated for breast cancer (successfully we thought), at the same time my mum was being treated for an obscure ear cancer at Addenbrooke's (we lost my dad to aplastic anaemia two years before I met DH). A couple of months before we got married last December we heard not only was her cancer back but it had spread to her bones.
We found out this weekend it's spread to her lungs and she'll need more chemo.
Fil doesn't handle this well and tbh is displaying some Alzheimer's symptoms.
We are in for a rough ride aren't we?

It's made worse by the fact that ILs don't really understand what the doctors say. Last time MIL thought her prognosis without treatment was how long she had left. Much unnecessary anxiety all round.

Hi english. Fancy a joint hand hold. My MIL was treated for breast cancer successfully five years ago. We found out on Wednesday that it is back and in her liver. I know very little more than this. We will know more next week. I lost my dad just five months ago. I think we too are in for a rough ride. Oh and I too am a teacher, an English subject leader... I hope you have a peaceful weekend.

Please could I join in. Have found out my lovely MIL also has lung & liver cancer & the prognosis is very bleak. She is putting a brave face on it but is obviously devastated as am I. I am also a teacher. Thank you x
