SUNDAY 9th MARCH 2014 : 3.15 – 5.15pm

This will be at: Hornsey Vale Community Centre, 60 Mayfield Road, Crouch End N8 9LP
(plenty of free on-street parking. Busses to crouch end : 91, 41, W7 – bus to venue: W5).

As a lesbian parent I felt that I wanted to meet other gay/lesbian/bi/transgender parents.
I thought it would be good to share our experiences of parenthood whilst drinking a decent cup of tea/coffee etc... and that a designated, safe space to be able to do this in was desperately needed; I also wanted my son to meet and play with the children of other gay parents.

As I have organised this and hired the space myself, there aren't any centre "workers" or crèche facilities etc... to look after or entertain the children or anything like that. This will be down to us.

A few toys have already been donated by my friends/family and group members. If you can bring along a toy to donate that would be great (please can you make sure it’s in full working order, with not too many small parts!)

Tea/coffee/juice/biscuits/fruit/cake etc.. is supplied for the group. For our 1st meeting, a participant made a delicious cake! Please feel free to bake/bring something if you’d like to, although there is no obligation to at all… There is usually a slight shortage of decent cups for hot drinks, so if you drink tea/coffee, it might help if you can bring a mug too…

As this group is fairly new, I never really know how many people there will be and how it is going to go.

I hope it builds into something positive, so if you are interested, please don’t be shy, come along and help us to make this a success. It would be great to meet you.

It costs £5 per session, per family. You can pay on the day. No booking required.

Hi Claire,

Are prospective parents welcome? I've just got pg and would love to chat to some other lesbian mums. If it's for people with actual children rather than an embryo that's fine, and hopefully see you in November instead. grin

Hi, unfortunately I can't make it tomorrow, but I'd be interested to know whether any parents with older children turn up please (mine are 9-12 and I'm not sure they'd be impressed if I took them to a toddler group!).

Hope it goes well!

Hi there,
Libby3046: At the moment all the children are younger. The eldest being around 5... I didn't set up the group as a toddler group, interestingly, it has just turned out this way so far ! ! I wonder why????
I'd love to meet parents with older children and they are more than welcome to come along, tho I totally understand if they weren't impressed by the idea smile !

PosyFossilsShoes: Congrats on the pregnancy. we've had several pg couples come along to the previous groups. you'd be more than welcome.

I'll post dates of our next meeting on here and I can add your names to my mailing list (if you'd prefer not to, I won't. just let me know)
