Hi, I know this conversation was a few months ago. But my wife and I were planning to move back to Hants area,so we can buy house. With plan to adopt. Just wanted to know what your experiences of being lgbt parents in S'ton / Pompey area have been?
Hi all, my partner and I are currently going through the adoption process with a local council authority (we live in Basingstoke) and before we can progress any further we need to volunteer in local nurseries, groups etc. to gain valuable childcare experience. Also we have been suggested to engage with other lgbt parents (or potential parents) to create a support network group which will help us both now to gain more understanding of challenges faced by lgbt parents and their children but also later once we will become parents ourselves. Unfortunately we don't know anybody in this area as we are both Italian and moved here few years ago. So really looking to befriend with other couples in our area to share our experiences and have somebody to talk to. Thanks, Marc
I have two children aged 6 and 2. I would be happy to email/chat/meet up with you to help you with what you mentioned above. My partner is also female and she went through the adoption process for our 6 year old, although I am biological mum for both. My email address is fletcherxxx666*@gmail*.com. Faye
Hi Marc, hope you are well. Just came across your post. Michael and I are a gay male couple in Fleet, Hampshire. We have a 6 week old son born through surrogacy in Canada. How are you getting on with your adoption? Would be happy to chat anytime. Be good to build a local network as well. Thanks, Shar. (Sharplatt@gmail.com)
