Any LGBT families in Buckinghamshire or London?

My daughter is 3 and is beginning to notice differences between our family and other families at her school. I feel it would be good for her to meet other children with same sex parents, as right now she feels like the only one.

We are based in High Wycombe, is any one interested in meeting up for a play date?

Yey! I had started to think we might be the only family in Bucks! Our son is 2 1/2. We live in Taplow and would love to meet for a playdate!

Thank goodness, we have lots of lesbian friends, but none of them have children. My daughter is now getting invited to a lot of birthday parties and is starting to interact with other parents and noticing that our family is different.

Would it be possible to arrange something for the end of the month/ beginning of next month. My daughter is at nursery full time so it would have to be on the weekend.

Thank you.

Hello! Would also love to meet. We recently moved to Chesham and have two boys; 4 and 18m.

Any suggestions as to when and where to meet? I guess Beaconsfield might be a central point for us all. Would love to get something organised.

Beaconsfield good for us though I don't know it at all-happy to go down there for a recce if no one else has any meeting place suggestions? How about Sunday 12th March?

12th is good for us. After saying Beaconsfield, I'm not sure I can think of anywhere. It depends what kind of place we want? Our boy is rather lively and space is always good!

My 2 are v lively too so I'll go and have a look around on Saturday and check some places out- if it's good weather we could always go to a playground to tire them out then for a coffee/snack afterwards?

Just realised 12th is actually a Monday so assume we are aiming for Sunday 11th. Have checked it out with a friend who lives in Beaconsfield and she says there is a small playground/park on Garvin road which is good for littlies. Then head into town for a coffee and cake! Do we want to meet morning or afternoon?

Oops yes meant Sunday 11th! We wandered round Beaconsfield on Saturday and after a poll of parents we came across headed to a cafe called Jungs in New Beaconsfield which was nice, child friendly and reasonably priced food. It's attached to a patisserie/ bakery and the cakes looked amazing! How about meeting at the playground your friend suggested at 11.30 then the children can play first then we could head to Jungs afterwards? It was v busy in there when we went so I'm happy to reserve an area so that we can definately sit down- say 12.45?

Sounds lovely! We've been to Jungs before and the food is lovely but it can get very busy so a good idea to reserve if you don't mind doing that. See you soon!

Hello, newbie here! We're near Maidenhead and would love to meet up if anyone is around at weekends? DS is very active and loves all manner of playgrounds and we love / need coffee so similar meet sounds perfect, plus I suspect bump likes cake x

Hello OctoberOctober, we would love to have another meet up. Peaka seems to have disappeared but we met up with Chica and the boys had a great time together. We are busy at weekends for the rest of April, what about a May meet up?

Congratulations on the bump!

Happy to do Beaconsfield again or Marlow is quite good with ducks and playground by the river.

We can do either date and Marlow sounds good, not been there yet so it'll be nice to see somewhere new!

Love Marlow and we can also do either date.

Brilliant. Shall we say Sat 5th afternoon then?

hev2010 · 22/04/2012 18:54

Sat 5th in the diary! What time in afternoon is good for meet-up? Shall we meet by playground/cafe in the park as it is easy to find for chica who hasn't been to marlow before.

2pm? No real reason for choosing that time so if it's awkward for anyone else ....!

Hi all,

We are a female couple with a nearly 3 year old son and are very keen to meet other same sex couples who are parents. We really want our son to see that all families are not the same and he is not the only one with two mums. We are happy to travel to where you have arranged to meet, but not sure where you are meeting.

Thanks,

Sophie

Hi Sophie,

We are meeting on Saturday 5th May at 2pm in Higginson Park in Marlow SL7 2AE.

Here is a map of where:

maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&tab=wl

There is a public pay and display carpark on Pound Lane called Court Garden Carpark. We are then meeting by the playground and cafe in the park (it can be very busy but sure we will find each other!).

Hope we see you there!

Hi everyone,

I've not had my baby yet, we are due in June.

I was just wondering that, once I've had him, would it be possible to meet up too? We're based in North London.

We'd love to meet other families in the same/similar situation to us.

Most of our friends are straight &/or don't have children !

Happy to give more personal info if you want to pm me.

Pixiewitch, a few gatherings in North and East London:

  • ELOP in Walthamstow: Parents, Babies & Toddlers - every Thursday 1030-1230 - £2.50 for adults (free for kids).
  • Rainbow families: every first Sunday of the month, 159 Mile End Road 1400-1600. You don't have to have a kid to come to this one, pregnant and thinking of getting pregnant welcome too!

All friendly bunches, come along!
