So many parents on this board are talking about the difficulties supporting their trans identified children.

There was a thread earlier signposting parents to parent run groups but for some reason the thread it was deleted.

Finding these groups was a life saver for me. My ROGD daughter was only 15. Now 21 and hormone free. Watchful waiting was by far the best approach. Affirmation only was the worst thing could have happened to her.

I've recently been following Our Duty. This story from parents in Finland I read at the end of last year, it's devastating.

These might not be parents in the Uk but the story is no less important and one that should be shared.

There must be many parents in the UK struggling with similar circumstances, I hope you find the support you need, I can only imagine what you are going through.

Thanks for the links.

Parents desperately need support in ensuring the best outcomes for their ROGD kids.

GColdtimer thanks for the links. Such a relief to talk with parents of gender confused kids. We tried CAMHS but all they did was affirm our son in his delusion. Parents need help in order to maintain their sanity and to support their own child.

These are both fabulous groups and have helped me immensely. When my daughter first announced she identified as a boy in October, I genuinely thought I was the only parent not wanting to go down the Mermaids route. It was such a relief to find that I was far from alone.

Thank you! I have shared this piece. We are all starting to unite globally. There is strength in numbers.
