Do you know any company that will insure an empty house?

We're moving out next week but it's going to be at least another 6 weeks before the sale goes through! Our insurer won't do buildings insurance on an empty house-do you know anyone that will?

When we moved out of our house, Direct Line was very happy to continue insuring it.

You might want to ask the bank that you have your mortgage with - they usually have insurance divisions, and I can't imagine them turning you down given they have a financial interest in the property.

We've used Coop (CIS) on our house which has been furnished, but not always occupied, while we have rented it out.

We've been OK with our Tesco insurance and they are quite competitive. I know Direct Line are fine with it too as we just a quote from them and our house is still empty waiting for a buyer!
