Welcome to part two of the February thread!

List of sites often discussed:

Appen/Lionbridge/Isoftstone- micro task or long term ‘project’ sites, work varies from rating ads, the effectiveness of search engines, and voice projects

Quidco/Topcashback/Boom25 -cashback sites, really useful this time of year if you’re due to switch utilities!

Trading 212/Freetrade - Sites where you can get free shares you can then sell! These work on a referral basis, so please do share your links. Freetrade will only work once per link.

Do you want to get a free stock share worth up to ‎£100?

Create a Trading 212 Invest account using this link and we both get a free share!
You should sign up to Freetrade! It’s an app for investing in the stock market with no fees. Plus, when you sign up, we both get a free mystery share!

ModSquad, Crisp Thinking - website and social media moderation work

Utest, Testing Time, What users do - website testing

Market research - people for search, angelfish.

That should cover most of what was discussed in the last thread! I'm just realising I've forgotten transcription sites so I'll add those on now.

As always, referral links are always more than welcome

@MrsWombat thank you so much for the t****E tip re the voice to text. You have literally just changed that whole project for me. As although it is the holy grail it's so super tedious. grin

Suebnm Thu 13-Feb-20 23:53:24

@Madre77 I literally came on to say the same thing to @MrsWombat

I've managed to pick up an additional couple of locum clerking roles locally to me, one was just for the meetings and the other is basically as many hours as I can spare. Because it is locuming, and I invoice for my hours, I can choose my own hourly rate! Which is nice! So £10 a day, complete for the foreseeable future !!

Thanks for the new thread smile

Oh yeah I was accepted to m****w on Appen, my first ever appen project. I started doing the test work yesterday and fell asleep! Have not been on my laptop since and probably won't get back on until tomorrow or Saturday. Does anyone know if I'll have ruined the whole thing now? I woke up, closed my laptop lid and went back to sleep so I'd left it with the test stuff in progress. I just started a new job and I'm shattered atm and couldn't face looking at it again today to find out what happened.

Place marking

MrsWombat Fri 14-Feb-20 06:29:28

Marking my place.

Hehe @Madre77 @Suebnm Happy Valentines Day! flowersgrin There was a much more tedious Appen voice project going on when I started Tr****e last year and someone suggested using voice-to-text for that and a lightbulb went on in my head for using it for other things.

I'm got approx £18.11 approved and coming from utest coming on Monday for three test cases. I'm definitely persevering with it. A fiver for 15 mins work isn't too shabby. grin

Just applied to work at the polling station for local elections in May, I think the money is supposed to be quite good! Search on your local council website.

Icanflyhigh Fri 14-Feb-20 08:02:07

Thanks Madre77
I've been doing Clerking for a while and only just started picking up locum work, but with a wedding to pay for very soon, it all helps!

3dogsnorth Fri 14-Feb-20 08:05:58

What's the deal with Appen when it comes to applying for projects? I'm on a long term project with them T** and I'm really grateful for that but I've got something like 20 active processes. Is it first come, first served?

AriellaBella Fri 14-Feb-20 08:13:03

Thanks for the new thread.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully Fri 14-Feb-20 09:06:10

I've been accepted on 2 angel fish market research one offs and both times they say they'll call me but nothing and I've missed one start date so far. Do they not call everyone?

AdaShelby Fri 14-Feb-20 09:34:12

You can only do one market research every 6 months, if they see you doing more than that they will blacklist you.

Not sure if that's why, but something to be aware of.

Voice to text is a life saver on Appen for me.

Refreshes email... refreshes email... refreshes email...

Anyone else?

Morning everyone smile not doing a lot today we are having a family day out, might attempt something later.

Can I ask about the Amazon flex - is this delivering parcels? Is it worth it for the pay/time etc? I could potentially do it for a few hours here and there
