As discussed, here's a list for newbies for reference.

Appen/Lionbridge/Isoftstone- micro task or long term ‘project’ sites, work varies from rating ads, the effectiveness of search engines, and voice projects

⁃cashback sites, really useful this time of year if you’re due to switch utilities!

Trading 212/Freetrade

Sites where you can get free shares you can then sell! These work on a referral basis, so please do share your links. Freetrade will only work once per link.

Do you want to get a free stock share worth up to ‎£100?

Create a Trading 212 Invest account using this link and we both get a free share!
You should sign up to Freetrade! It’s an app for investing in the stock market with no fees. Plus, when you sign up, we both get a free mystery share!

ModSquad, Crisp Thinking - website and social media moderation work

Utest, Testing Time, What users do - website testing

Market research - people for search, angelfish.

That should cover most of what was discussed in the last thread! I'm just realising I've forgotten transcription sites so I'll add those on now.

As always, referral links are always more than welcome smile

People who do Appen or UTest, have you opted for Payoneer or PayPal? I resent paying any fees but I know we must! I just want to pay as little as possible.

Just want to add my cloudworkers payment could be a bit lower then I have estimated due to brexit but we will have to wait and see.

Can I just reiterate. Crispers. They watch this thread. Stop sharing so many details. Check your contracts. If you share how much you’ve made, it’s not hard to work out who you are. SHUSH.

My totals for January are:
Appen - $431.90 This is just from doing my hour-a-day long term project every single day of January for the first time ever. I got used to the money from the now finished other projects so that spurred me on. You only have to do 5 out of 7 days and I could never be bothered, but I now have #GazelleFocus, and I know I've only got 4 months left on this project too. Referral link:
Freelance work - £70 Quiet month. (I have a small admin job and the client found me through People per hour)
uTest $36 - They have a big UK project running at the moment and a did a couple of things with that including finding a bug!
Prolific £7.94

I've also started an instagram blog to share my progress. There's an entire community out there for uk side hustlers/debt free people.

Ohhhh @MrsWombat ! Please share your link to your Instagram (if you feel brave enough!) I'd love to take a look.

I ve name changed for this but I m an active contributor to the threads. I m feeling a bit low this morning, across various things I ve earned £700 but I ve put in about 200 hours for that which is absolutely pitiful. I have a full time business as well so that’s 200 hours of my leisure and family time I ve spent to make £3.50 an hour so I think I m going to just focus on low risk casino and one well paying hour a day project. I just feel really low and defeated. I made over 1000 in November for 100 hours on the projects a lot of us did then and I was looking forward to so many nice things this year but the effort is not worth the pay off. My skills and abilities are worth far more than £3.50 an hour.

Tefiti2 Sat 01-Feb-20 09:44:33

To those on Appen that are on long term/well paying projects - were you applying for things for a while before you got anywhere? I have lots of active processes but nothing further than that! @mrswombat

spacepoppers Sat 01-Feb-20 09:50:17

@GachaBread that's pretty impressive! I've wondered about cloudworkers, but not sure about the commitment of 12+ hours with three children and a part time job already! Did you have to put in a lot of hours to get £800?

justtheonethen Sat 01-Feb-20 09:54:36

@Tefiti2 ages. I waited about 6 months for a project I think.

@Careeradviceplease I can see why you feel that way. Some of the options for money making from home are paid at a pittance and that's so demeaning really. I hope you get another good appen project soon.

GachaBread Sat 01-Feb-20 10:33:09

@spacepoppers I have 5 children myself. I work on cloudworkers 2 hours in the morning and two at night. And all my mystery shopping in between. I average between 300/400 messages a day.

Februarycat Sat 01-Feb-20 10:35:10

@GachaBread Wow you have done well on Cloudworkers. I think I have only just reached minimum messages but I this is my first month so I am a bit slow and need to speed up

margaritasbythesea Sat 01-Feb-20 10:38:21

Wow! That is an epic first post Otterses. Thanks very much.

Careeradviceplease - I'm sorry you're feeling low. Sounds like you're working very hard. It can be dispiriting. I've dropped some stuff I didn't find worthwhile. It is hard though when better paying things run out. Also, I live in a rural area and 90% of the jobs going are minimum wage and also hours I can't do. Hang on in there.

MoreMoneyPlease Sat 01-Feb-20 10:38:59

@Careeradviceplease Sorry you feel a bit low, I definitely think it's worth sticking with the things that pay well and not bothering with those that don't because they can be a bit soul destroying (having said that, I still haven't deleted VYPR but as I only do it at work, I'm fine with that!) November was also my best month with all the Appen stuff but at least that gives me hope I might get another month like that.

MrsWombat Sat 01-Feb-20 10:44:45

@Tefiti2 For my long term Appen project I think I got on there at the right time as I got accepted onto that within a week or so of signing up back in May. It's called Truckee so keep an eye out for it as the contractors only stay on it for a year so they might recruit for it regularly? It can be a bit hit and miss on everything else. I had 3 other short term but 20 hour a week projects on the go in November/December (I just about managed the minimum 10 hours) and I got work within a week for them too. There is a big pile of data and you work on it as much as you can before it runs out. I am now currently waiting for 3 similar big but short term projects that I've been accepted on but they haven't started and it's been a few weeks/coming soon etc. I've given up hope.
