Need to make a claim against employers - union or those no win no pay?

DH had an accident at work which was clearly their fault and it has caused quite bad damage to his leg. He's been seeing a physio and had some time off work written off by gp on advice of physio. Now he has gone back it has started hurting him again.

He got paid today a large amount less than he should have (about half) so we assume (not seen payslip yet) that they arent going to pay any more sick leave and havent paid for all of it so far.

He had no intention of claiming previously as we dont go for the whole touch me and sue business but it seems there might be long term implications because of this.

What is his best bet do you reckon - to go through his union or go for one of these no fee no win?

Dh is a health and safety manager and so defends these claims(!) but says defo approach union first as they will prob recommend local solicitor who has been successful claiming against the company before.

Oh and don't feel bad about claiming, at least the company will be forced to make improvements for the future. Hope dh feels better soon.

Definitely union. That's what he pays his union dues for and they will pay for a lawyer if he needs one.

Thanks. DH will stick with union especially as you point out if any bad feeling arises after.

definitely union- no unadvertised hidden fees, and that;s what you pay your subs for. Generally better on employment related issues
