Thought I would start a new thread as the old one is closed! Hello to everyone old and new trying out Matched Betting!

So I'm £850 up now really happy with that. How is everyone else doing?

Quick question - just wondering what you are all doing to try and prevent being gubbed? I don't have much time during the week to do this so I am a bit concerned that a lot of my reload offers have been the only ones I've done. Particularly interested in making sure I can protect my Bet365 account as I did well on 2up's at the weekend. Thank you!

Hope you all find this! smile

Can I join please? I started on Monday having spent months reading up, watching tutorials and procrastinating! Going really slowly as I get my head round figures and the mechanics of it all. Have been doing horses all week ... rookie mistake of too low odds on my Betfred bet £10 for £30 free bets. Grrr. Horse was a non-runner so I got a second chance!

Now looking to use free bets. I think I should be using the entire bet on one horse, is that right? Also, is it realistic to see an 80% return on the free bet at this stage? I think the liability is going to knock me. What are best odds to look for please?

Thanks!

Is there something I can read about calculating EV?

Gammeldragz Wed 14-Nov-18 20:06:39

I aim to hit 11+ offers a day, so £30 isn't too unreasonable. I get anything and everything that's positive EV, even casino stuff though I stick to roulette as I hate blackjack!

Merryoldgoat Wed 14-Nov-18 11:53:55

Gosh - I really need to
Understand casino better - I can’t imagine £30 a day!!

Gammeldragz Wed 14-Nov-18 10:23:28

I make about £50 a week from reloads and price boosts on the actual matched betting, and aim for £30 a day from low risk casino, which I'm hitting in average. My aim is £1000 a month.

Merryoldgoat Tue 13-Nov-18 20:47:59

If you want to try some low risk casino, the following 5 are a good place to start.

Heart Bingo
Monopoly Casino
Virgin Games
Jackpot Joy
Starspins

They all offer a free daily game and a bonanza box offer. To open the box you need to wager £5 on three different days.

I use Starburst for this as it’s quite good RTP - I do 10p spins and rarely end up down (so far). However I am keeping a balance in each account so I don’t have to keep withdrawing and depositing so prob only helpful when you’ve already built up a reasonably sized bank.

Thank you sushi x its paid a cash but I have to wait up to 72hours before the free spins get added x I have just started but cant get my head around the maths yet but I am trying to give it a real go grin

SushiMonster Mon 12-Nov-18 13:47:53

@notsodimwit is there a wagering requirement? Or are winnings paid as cash?

Basically you should see a ‘claim free spins’ button somewhere and it will tell you what slot games are in the promo in the T&Ca. Go to the slot and it should have the free spins there. If it doesn’t say free spins in the slot, don’t play it, come back out. All are a bit different so hard to know exactly how to activate the spins.

I was a newbie at the end of the last thread - just hit £500 after 3 weeks and doing about half the sign up offers and some bet clubs and reloads. This weekend with the Sheffield and Manchester Derby’s was super profitable.

notsodimwit Mon 12-Nov-18 07:12:59

Hi x I have just started doing matched betting and have received an offer of 25 free spins in the casino, how do I do them as never played in a casino in my life confused

Llioed Mon 12-Nov-18 06:32:39

This may help...

Hello! I was a newbie at the end of the last thread. Started 19th October and am now £1k up thanks to about 20 welcome offers, a couple of lucky bingo offers and some low-risk casino.

Very interested in 2ups but might be problematic as I don’t have the time to spend watching the matches.

Hoping to pull in £200-£300 a month if I can.

Can anyone making an income from this give a brief breakdown of where their income comes from? Is it mostly reloads or is it all casino? I find Casino a bit nervy although now I’ve got to grips with wagering it makes a bit more sense and I’m up on 3 sites this evening. Jackpot Joy especially fruitful after winning £55 from my free bingo tickets! grin

Oliversmumsarmy Sun 11-Nov-18 12:33:44

Thanks for that. I will look Team Profit up.

Llioed Sun 11-Nov-18 10:04:00

I am following Team Profit - they have a website and a Facebook page. They have videos that are split up into step by step guides and easy to follow.

The idea is you get the “welcome offers” from all the bookmakers (this should make approx £600-£800 depending on amounts) then once they are done they want to keep you as a customer (it is a competitive market) therefore will offer more to keep you (called “reload offers”)

They are other things to do such as low risk casino (I haven’t read into this yet) and also things like 2ups and acca’s (again, not read into those either)

Once I have done the welcome offers and some reload offers, I will do further research into the things I mentioned above. Best thing to do is not read about EVERYTHING at this stage as it can be overwhelming. Only read/watch the videos that you need to, then progress onto low risk casino/2ups, etc, a few months down the line.

Hope this helps? Team Profit is the one I will be following once I get my bank account set up, and deposit money into coral, betfair exchange, etc.

Good luck!

I have been trying to get my head around MB for a long time.

Maybe because I have never gambled before save for a couple of lottery tickets I just can’t seem to get it.

Is there a site that explains it baby step by baby step. I am good at maths and can usually understand even complex stuff if I read it carefully but this is like a foreign language.

I can see how you can make a profit on horse racing or football but surely once you have played through your initial opening offer they have no reason to give you more stuff. And on the odd website I have looked at you can’t withdraw your winnings unless over a certain amount.

spugzbunny Sun 11-Nov-18 09:24:15

Can someone excellent lain low risk casino for me? How low risk is it really? Is it easy to get carried away?

Llioed Sat 10-Nov-18 17:46:33

Gamma - that’s the best way someone has actually explained it to me!! Thank you so much for explaining that! I feel better now. I suppose it’s also simething I will learn as I go along, lol.
Thank you again smile
As for the other ways to make profit (low risk Casino, etc) I will look at those when I have finished Team Profits £100 to £1000 guide.
Thanks again - really appreciate you explaining that to me.

Gammeldragz Sat 10-Nov-18 16:31:17

I've mostly been doing casino offers this week, done a couple of price boosts today but only a few quid profit from those. Should have a free bet or two on its way and need to place bets for the weekly bet clubs. Mustn't neglect the guaranteed profit stuff, even though low risk casino is rather addictive!

Gammeldragz Sat 10-Nov-18 16:29:47

@Llioed QL means qualifying loss. How much you lose on the qualifying bet you place in order to get a free bet. Aim for less than 5% of your stake, so 50p on a £10 bet.
As for the other question, your liability is what leaves the exchange if your bookie bet wins. With those odds you'd get £100 back at the bookie (stake not returned on a free bet) so although you're losing £90 at the exchange you're still £10 up.

@llioed I use the team profit spreadsheet to track my winnings plus what I’ve got going on at any particular time.

Also the betfred offer, if you’re looking at casino, always check the t&cs. A lot of them lock your own deposit money into the bonus and your can’t withdraw without losing bonus or own funds are used first. The one you mention looks higher risk. I would start with low risk where you wager x amount (£10-20 and get free spins with no wagering requirements.

Couple of Quick questions guys!
Totally missed the old thread being closed and haven't been able to ask!

1) has anyone seen this offer? Have yet to venture into bingo, but do you think it is worth it?
https://betfred.mobi/promotions/bingo/deposit-10-and-get-40-in-bonuses?utmcampaign=onbb_xxx_binxxx_091118xselll_fsoo_s&utmmedium=crm&utmm_source=sms&utmcontent=bingoo_n/a_free%20spins&

2) have started to try being more organised and accurately track profit... using the profit accumulator "profit" section at the moment, but have trawled through my accounts and transaction histories, inputting each win and loss... is there a better way to do it?

Llioed Fri 09-Nov-18 06:27:09

Thanks SushiMonster.
2 questions:
1. What does QL mean?
2. I looked at an example of placing a freebet of placing a back bet of £20 (freebet) at odds of 6.0 and a laybet at odds of 6.17. This was the example given on a TeamProfit guide video. It said you would win around £14 if back bet won, but liability (in exchange) was around £90. Does that mean if back bet won, I would win £14 but lose £90 in the exchange??
Maybe I am missing something? confused sorry for the questions.

Would def recommend paying for Odds monkey membership and using than in tandem with the free Team Profit "staring with £100" (or lower amount) guide.

SushiMonster Wed 07-Nov-18 11:57:31

@Llioed quite a lot of the welcome offers exclude deposits from paypal so much better to use an actual bank card.

I didn't bother setting up a separate bank account because 1) time/effort and 2) it is really easy to filter transactions for credits to reconcile withdrawals. However it is probably a really good idea to do so. Easiest woudl be to open a second current account at your existing bank as then no ID requirements.

Team Profit and Odds Monkey guides are really good. The TP facebook group is good.

I am using the TP spreadsheet but have made some alterations to it. I love spreadsheets so that bit is kinda fun.

I will be up to £300 ish this weekend when my bets settle.

I annoyingly made a couple of mistakes - one of my smarkets team refunds bests was on the bloody cup not premier so didn't get my refund. That was an annoying £5 loss. Also a ladbrooks bet I didn't actually finish clicking through (thought I had) so I had a lay bet (which lost) and the back bet hadn't been placed. That was another £5 down.

Also to start with I wasn't using the oddsmonkey oddsmatcher, now I am using that I am having much less QL and much higher returns on the free bets.

I literally knew nothing about betting so it was all new to me but the guides are super good at explaining it.

Llioed Wed 07-Nov-18 08:33:02

Thank you for the suggestion of a separate account - I will do this. I have got a separate email address and will set up a new PayPal with the new email address and new bank account. Hope that sounds ok?

Mr Makers - I am on that Team Profit FB group too, but I’m finding it a bit overwhelming with all that MB talk. How much time per week do you spend doing MB in order to make £600 per month? I would be happy with £400/500 per month. Do you do just bets (football/horses) or do you do other stuff like casinos?

MrMakersFartyParty Tue 06-Nov-18 22:19:15

Hey guys, didn't know there was a mb thread on here. Ive been doing it about a year and make around 600 a month. I'm in a group on fb called team profit which is really helpful.
