No, it's 16 Hours a week threshold

You can get Child Tax Credit whether you work or not (the number of hours is not relevant, but your income will affect how much you get).

What's your relationship status? It affects your benefit entitlement.

If you're single (or dating someone but not living together) you could get either:
- Income Support, if you work less than 16 hours and meet the other criteria (income and savings under the threshold)
OR
- Working Tax Credits, including the childcare element which covers up to 70% of your childcare costs, if you work 16 hours or more and meet the other criteria
