So if you know some one is going through a court case (family courts) - and you know they are working full time, and down the pub bragging that they are getting legal aid (because they kept it schtum from their solicitor) WWYD?

sorry but I find it hard to believe that someone would be able to keep the fact that they were working full time from their solicitor in a family case. All family cases require full financial disclosure therefore the client would have to produce copies of all bank statements etc. Some people do try to be sneaky and only disclose certain accounts but they nearly always trip themselves up and it comes out eventually

depends what they are in court for,
if it involves social services they get legal aid no matter what they earn.

if they are claiming benefits fraudulently legal aid will say its up to the dwp to sort it out first.

i would mention it to legal aid tho.

tad annoying really cos i cant get it and got a 9k legal aid bill! and the reason i cant get it - childcare element of tax credits is really high and puts me above the limit!
