Divorcing someone who has vanished into thin air.

Been separated from my husband for 5 years. For one reason or another, divorce hasn't been organised. The main reason is for the last two and a half years is that I have no idea where he is.

His own family don't know either as he just up and left one day and cut contact with everyone. I have tried every email address he had and also tried tracking him down on twitter and facebook.

Has anyone managed to get divorced when the other person has vanished.

You just need to evidence how you tried to trace them and do a decree inside search to make sure your not divorced already

I understand you just get divorced based on 5 years separation. The issue you really need to nail down is how you deal with the finances and get a consent order so that he doesn't turn up years later and starts making claims on you (as the head of Ecotricity) found to his cost)
