Divorce and finances

Please can someone tell me if I apply for divorce do they sort the finances too or do you have to go to mediation?

I was trying to save costs. I thought if it would cost £550 for divorce fees, as have done the paperwork myself, of that covered finances then would be cheaper than paying out hundreds in mediation fees.

You'll need to do both
- from your last reply you sound as if you think it might be either / or
Get going with the divorce while you try mediation to sort finances
If you're on a low income you may be eligible for a reduction or exemption from the court fee
