What is happening in Court tomorrow? Is this to appear for finances or non-appearance and Judge granting Nisi?

No appearance and judge declaring nisi.

Then you can apply for DA on 7 December. Assuming it is your petition.

There are reasons to delay ùntil finances are resolved, though. Should check with your solicitor.

I waited a year after nisi and absolute (don't ask...finances) and it came through only a couple of weeks later.

So if you've got your consent order sorted, yes it would be done by Xmas!

I don't have a solicitor. There's no finances to sort. Absolutely nothing so we just did it ourselves

If you are the Petitioner then you can apply in 6 weeks so it is possible.

You should still get a consent order. If you don't and one of you comes into some money in the future the other may be able to claim some of that money.

We're very unlikely to come into money but if I did VIA the lottery etc I would share with him anyways. We are still very good friends and we wouldn't get petty over that sort of thing. But thanks.

Some people come backafter 20 years married to someone else for a massive chunk of your later earned cash in England though. TI is very very very imkportant indeed to get a final clean break consent order. It may not feel at all important now but it is . It is not very complex to agre e- just one page of basic stuff if you have no assets, no pensions, no savings, no house and neither will pay the other any spousal or child maintenance.
