speeding points on licence

My sister's XH has been a total idiot, apparently believed he had 9 points on his licence but has just had notification of another speeding incident which happened in August (he is still registered at her address temporarily and gets her to open his post and inform him of the contents as although he only lives round the corner since he moved out, he travels a lot for work so is away a lot). He has been under immense pressure at work and told her he was rushing to make it to a business meeting.

She has checked online and can only see 6 points , the speeding offence she says was committed in May (although not notified until August) is not shown on the DVLA record.

Does anyone know whether this means they have been rescinded for some reason, (He told her that was going to challenge the penalty).

How long does it take for the points to come through to the DVLA record ?

We can't believe he can have been so stupid as he may lose his job and she will struggle to afford the mortgage without the money he pays her plus all the taxi -ing of the children will fall to her (although I'll help when I can).

Earliest points were 2016 so still in force for another 2 1/2 years

Maybe one lot of points was dealt with via a speeding awareness course?

Ooh that might be it titchy, although bearing in mind her XH already had 2 sets of 3 points on his licence for speed offences in the previous 12 months, I'd be amazed if he was eligible or maybe they thought he really needed to go on that course.
