Court order for harassment..

DS hasn't seen his father since he was 3 months old. His dad recently text me asking for contact and at the moment is having indirect contact by sending letters (well only one), as was advised by solicitor.

I spoke to him recently and he told me he has a baby with his ex and that she has a court order against him because he was harassing her (he tells me that he "sent too many texts"). Could you even get a court order for that? What would the name of it be? He says he's basically not allowed to contact her at all.

When he was with me he was emotionally and physically abusive so I'm a bit concerned that this is what the court order is really about and that hes just lying.
I'm trying to the bottom of it and obviously he's not going to tell me the truth.
Would I be mad to contact her and ask what happened? I just want to make sure my son will be safe before I let him see him.

Sorry this is a bit jumbled, trying to post quickly. TIA

You wouldn't be mad at all to do that. sounds sensible to me.

I agree that contacting her would be sensible.
