False Claim via TOLATA

A former partner is claiming beneficial interest in my property. It was purchased by me in my sole name and I paid the deposit, the mortgage and all the bills. He lived in my property from 1999-mid2004. I have bank statements, all the conveyancing paperwork and a re-mortgage file for 2004. Can he continue to falsely claim this interest and force me into court? He has no way of paying my expenses when he loses and has recently been released on license from prison after serving half of an 8 year sentence for Class A drug offences.
Can I just ignore the threats of litigation and offers of mediation? He has no grounds or substance to his claim.

Just to check - were you married? Did he pay anything towards the home?

The onus is on him to prove that he made a contribution and that that contribution was to his detriment.

I'd sit tight and see what (if any) evidence he can come up with.

He may well be time barred by now anyway, depending on the timeline.
