I'm the line manager of a team. I wasn't in work today. I've been informed that one of my men was verbally abusive to a colleague today.
We are not back at work until 7am on Monday. I am going to suspend him, pending an investigation (conduct is against company policy).
However I can't get hold of HR between then and now.
Should I remove him from duties and isolate him until I get HR advice (about 2 hours) OR can I send him home? If so, what is the wording I need to use?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
