HI,

If one is receiving legal aid, are they allowed to ask their solicitor for a statement?

Also, is their a time frame within which it must be produced?

lastly, is there any legal reason why a solicitor may not have to provide it to their client?

You should get an update as to costs every 6 months - SRA and LAA rules.
You are entitled to cost info, no reason to withhold it
The solicitor may not prioritise if you are receiving legal aid with no prospect of having to pay it back. You will only have to pay back your legal aid if you recover or retain money or property as a result of the advice

Thank you!

There'so no requirement to give costs information if there is no possibility of you having to bear any of the costs, e.g.in a judicial review case.
