Hi. Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge on employment law? I have had 8 days off work sick this financial year and my boss is now wanting me to sign and agree to them ruducing my shifts from 5 a week to 4 a week as punishment. Can they do legally do this? Would much appreciate any advice/input.

Is it all one absence or 8 separate periods? Is it all for the same illness?

I'm not an employment expert but I know where I work they can suggest reducing hours if you're having too many days off.

Have you had an informal/written formal warning for sickness?

Does it actually say 'as a punishment' or are they saying that your sickness record shows you can't cope with FT work?
