Legal matters

Can a shop manager bar you without giving you a reason?

He has fallen out with me for personal reasons and has barred me from every shop in the company. I tried to go into a different branch today and was told I was barred, when I asked why I was told that they didn't know but if anyone let me over the door they would face disciplinary action. I know they can refuse to serve you but can they ban you from entering the premises? Just wondered if anyone knows? Thanks

I would be surprised if anyone has a legal entitlement to enter a shop giving you a basis for challenging it. If they are not going to serve you anyway does it make any difference?

Of course they can ban you. Same as I can ban you from my house and call the police if you trespass. Only difference if you suspect its due to discrimination based on your race or sex.
