Hi

Was wondering if someone could give me there opinion please.

Me and husband have been seperated nearly 2 years and would like to start divorce proceedings. We have no money or possesions to split all was dealt with 2 years ago. We have a child but arrangements are all in place and have been working fine for 2 years.

I appreciate each court deal with things in their own time so it may be hard to answer but could anyone give me an idea on how long this process may take in the sense that its just a case of following the procedure completing the forms and returning them each step.

I know you cannot apply for decree Absolute for 6 weeks and 1 day after nisi issued but just wondered if it could potentionally be quite easy quick and straight forward.

Thanks in advance

Depends where you are in the country, but I generally use Reading, Slough and Oxford county courts and tend to find that between issuing the petition and obtaining the decree nisi will take 10 to 12 weeks, assuming that the petitioner gets on with the appln for decree nisi as soon as they receive the sealed acknowledgment of service form.
