County Court Time Limits

Can anyone help with a query regarding county court time limits?

Some idiot (trust me on that point Grin) has filed a county court claim against me. I filed a defence many months ago along with application etc to have it transferred to my local court (which was granted). In June I received a copy of a document from the Court which it had sent to the Plaintiff advising them that they had not filed a response to my defence and accordingly their claim would be thrown out if they did not do so within 14 days.

I've heard nothing since. Does anyone have any idea what is likely to be going on? I'm speculating that either a response was filed and the issue is just meandering its way through the court process or at the opposite end of the spectrum, they failed to reply and the case has been thrown out - would that happen without me being notified?

Have you contacted the court to find out what's happening?

You need to contact the court. You would have been notified if the case was thrown out, but perhaps the letter has not reached you.

I know it's stupid and I should contact the court but I'm quite happy to let sleeping dogs lie on this! I just thought someone might know if 2.5 months was a normal time frame to have heard nothing if the issue is still live as I thought small claims was supposed to be a fast-track!
