Don't I know it but figure two more won't make that much difference.
Can't believe I just typed that - who am I kidding???
Still it's all worth it when I look at my gang laughing and singing together or when I'm alone in the kitchen listening to the house waking up in the morning

My gran had two sets twins (12 children). I have 5 but also had 2 stillbirths so see myself as a mum of 7. I love big families and think yours will be fab! I am sticking to 5 (one set twins) though as feel it is enough for us and having been through terrible births/comlications don't want to rock the boat!! congrats!!

We didn't originally plan on any more after our DDs in 2008 but we are really happy to be having another 2 to add to our family.
we have to be mega organised with everything, buy loads in bulk and run to a military (ish) timetable as much as we can with so many young ones. Plus both sets of GPs live close by and are a great help. Must admit some days I'm asleep before my head hits the pillow but DH and I both come from larger families so would be weirder for us to just have one or two children.
I do realise how incredibly lucky we are to have so many happy, healthy children as my SIL has been TTC for 8years and has suffered several MC and a stillborn DS. Heres hoping 2010 will be her year xxx

NorfolkBronze - we are ok for the moment on the house front as are starting extension to build new master bedroom over garage in Jan. new twins will be in with us for a while anyway, DD1 has her own room (tiny but she loves it) DSs share a room and 3 youngest DDs share. Plan is eventually for us to get lovely new room (ensuite - result!), move 3 DDs into our current room (much bigger & they are so used to sharing now) and new DCs into the girls old room IYSWIM. Bit of rearranging but should keep them all happy for the forseeable future. We are lucky enough to have an old minibus/people carrier so won't need to upgrade our car - thank goodness and also don't really need to buy much for new babies as have lots already that I never quite got round to getting rid of!!

Bloody hell - we've got 3 and I am constantly knackered with work inside and outside the home! Good for you - you are completely bonkers, but obviously very happy and very capable. Congratulations

same as pacific said

You are absolutely insane but it must be lovely
I have three and am terminally knackered, so @ you with twice as many already...
good luck. As you say, two more probably won't make any difference whatsoever

How amazing to have 2 sets of twins - do they run in your family? I'm completely in awe of anyone who has more than one at a time. I have 4 and thats plenty for me. How do you cope with the sleep deprivation?

Report
mum2all · 06/01/2010 20:25

No twins on either side although we both come from big families - just a fluke of nature I guess?
Have been incredibly lucky as apart from DD2 they have all been relatively good sleepers, have a great hubby who took a month off(saved up bank hols etc) after each baby and 6 weeks after DTs which really helped also my parents/ inlaws are nearby and both mums are a great support in those early days so i'm hoping i can count on them again (fingers crossed)
