Just that really,
With 6 weeks off with 6 children, need to think of cheap and filling meal ideas for a pretty fussy bunch 🙄 any ideas would be much appreciated. Struggling this year financially- their all growing fast so appetites are through the roof 😂

Any dietary needs?

If their appetites are growing and they are therefore ravenous, you may find they are more willing to eat whatever you dish up, fussy or not...

6 dc here also!
Lunch will be a sandwich /wrap with crisps /fruit /cake.
They know it's cold lunch and cooked tea here!
I give them their lunch money that they would have had for extras /fish +chips occasionally.
Evening meals as usual.

Jacket potatoes are cheap, filling and easy.

Big frittata and salad, same with a home made quiche.

Spaghetti bake or any pasta bake

Daal and rice with chapatis

Wraps on the table with sliced salad veggies and either cooked chicken or halloumi

My kids favourite meal that is quick and full of veg is pasta -

Rigatoni pasta
Fry bacon, mushrooms and add in sweet corn and broccoli tips at the end (i precook the broccoli) but literally you could add most veg

For the sauce 1/2 tub of cream cheese, 1/2 pot of tomato pesto, 2 tablespoons of tomato purée. And a sprinkle of cheese on top!

Filled wraps - ham, chicken, cheese, grated carrot, cucumber, i normally put into pots and kids can make their own up served with crisps.

Pasta with ham and grated cheese, veggie sticks or garlic bread
Kids love pasta with frankfurters and Bolognese sauce mixed in either with garlic bread or veggie sticks.

Jacket potatoes
Beans on toast / cheesy beans on toast

How old are your dc, i only have 4 ranging from 3-12 years old and finding with the heat they arent actually eating as much as normal they are just picking through the day.
We normally start the mornings ( on weekends or in half term) with either scrambled eggs, bacon and toast.
Pancakes, youghurt, fruit
My son loves crepes so will eat a couple of these most morning

Pizza pasta is easy and quick. Get a couple of packets of pepperoni and 4 tins of tomatoes. Put toms in a pan and cut the pepperoni into it. Add herbs and seasoning, simmer until reduced. Stir in cooked pasta. Serve with melted mozzarella (under grill) or just throw whatever cheese you have on it. Cheap and tasty!
