Would you? DD is 8 and DS is 5. They are keen to share.

I shared a room with my brother and sister until well into our teens, we had no option though. Why wouldn't you let them share?

Thanks. We have enough rooms for them to have a room each, they all have their own rooms atm (4DC), but DD1 is doing her GCSE's this year and we have no separate space for her to study/revise. Downstairs is open plan.

Just wondering how long they would want to share for as they get older.

This is purely academic on my part since my b/g twins aren't actually born yet, but I've always thought that b/g sibs sharing is fine until a) they're actively asking to be separated and/or b) the oldest of them hits puberty. That is, obviously, contingent on having the space available to separate them. I'm not trying to upset anyone who has their kids together because there isn't any other option.

That's how I'm planning on setting my house up anyway. Me in my room, DS1 in his own room, and DTs in their room. DS1 will (probably) be going to university at eighteen, when the DT are six or so, so we'll have options then, all other things remaining equal.

I shared with my brother as a kid op and loved it . We had the option of using the spare room but never considered thy until we were older .

I think it's fine, no different from same sex siblings sharing.
