ds 1 - 12 yrs goes to bed at 8.30pm
ds2 - 9yrs goes to bed at 7.30pm
dd1 - 8yrs goes to bed at 7.30pm
dd2 - 7yrs goes to bed at 7.00pm
ds3- 3yrs goes to bed at about 6.30pm unless he has fallen asleep before

Mine are 8, 6, 5 and 3. They all go to bed at the same time - 8-8:30pm.

The older two will sit in bed and read or maybe do a colouring book in bed, something like that, they will drop off by around9ish.

However, they all wake up at much different times! It kind of works for us though as I can give them one-on-one time when they wake up. Some sleep longer than the others. All efforts to get the to bed sooner fail, especially as I generall do night time on my own.

As my dcs are so close in age, they'd get really competitive if they perceived that someone was getting a 'treat' by staying up later. So a common bed time suits us.

Mine are 10, 4, 20 months and 7 months.

The 10 year old goes at 8
The 4 year old goes at 7.30
And the babies go at 7.

Dd10 is allowed to stay up later at the weekend but not past 9. I need a break from them and she really needs her sleep. The little ones are noisy in the morning so she doesn't get much of a lie in.

Dd1 -8 and ds 7 both go to bed between 730-8 more 8pm now with the lighter nights
dd2 -3 well anytime from 8-10pm she's also last to get up but I'm hoping to get her into better pattern.

DD12 - bed 8.30, lights out 9
DS10 & DS8 - bed 8, lights out 8.30
DS5 - bed 7.30, lights out 8

In the half hour, they usually read in bed, or talk to relatives on Skype. In theory, they're allowed to stay up half an hour later on Friday/Saturday nights but I often overrule that for the 3DSs because they look/act tired.

Wow they are really early!

My 12yo would think I'd grown another head if I suggested a 8.30 bedtime!

He gets up at 7am to leave at 7.50am. He doesn't sleep more than 9 hours (often less) so he goes through at 9.30/10 depending on if he's going to read or not.

Dc are 2, 6 and 7

They all go between 7 and 8 pm

On a night they are tired or have to be up early 7pm, if it's weekend and they aren't showing they are tired then up to 8pm

They do all go together though

Athena she thinks I'm a complete dragon and 'no one else gets treated like such a baby' but she's a 'mare to get up in the morning, moans about it being too early, she's too tired, etc if she doesn't get 9.5-10 hours, so I live with my wicked, mean mother label and I think she knows it's better for her really because she's pretty much stopped moaning about it Grin

Ds3 (2 1/2) and DD (18 months) Share a room and go together between 6-6.30pm
Ds1 (9) and d2 (4) share thé other room and go between 7-7.30 but they have a tv in their room and are allowed to watch a DVD . Youngest falls asleep and older one is usually still awake at 9.30 . Has always been like it even when little and an only child. They all wake at stupid o clock so evenings are my quiet time away from them ??

Mine are (nearly 2), 4 and 7 and they all go to bed at the same time - 6.30pm but I let the eldest read in bed until 7pm.
Occasionally I have to put the youngest down a bit earlier if he's tired and causing mayhem!

lagirafe what time do they get up, if you don't mind me asking?

Our bedtime routine has gone to pot recently. Glad for this thread.

The 4 and 7yr old wake up at 7am give or take 15 mins.
The youngest wakes up at 5 at the moment which is bloody annoying but it's mainly to do with thin curtains and bright sunlight! He used to be a 7am chappie too! I'm working on the solution!
I find sleep breeds sleep if that makes sense.

Great thread as this is something I've been thinking about this week.

Our 5.5 & 3 year old share a room and we start bedtime at 6.30 but they are rarely asleep til 7.30 or 8. We've tried starting later but it still takes 1-1.5hrs, there's a lot of messing eg each one going downstairs to get a suddenly essential toy, playing with each other etc. They wake around 6.45-7am. We are moving house soon (all going well!) & we could give them a bedroom each but I think they'll still mess, just mess across the corridor as opposed to in the same room! Not sure what to do!

We also have a 6 month old who is a disaster but I feel that's coz she has zero daytime routine due to being number 3! That's on the list for September when we've moved and settled into school & Montessori!
