We have 4 DCs. 14,12,10 and (just) 9.
I'm now expecting again this time with twins (runs in both our families so that part not really a shock)
6 DCs!

We weren't trying and I have none of the symptons I had with the other 4. (so thought missed periods was stress - sister has been very very ill - turns out not so much)

I don't know - I'm just still in shock - don't think it has registered yet.

Somebody say something to make me think that this will be alright

I have only got 2 but the thing that strikes me is that your older children are so much older they'll be able to help out massively for the twins, they're much more independent than if they were all under 10 , for example the 14 year old could potentially look after the 12, 10 and 9 year old while you had to go to baby clinic in the school holidays for example, and rustle up some dinner for everyone

Hi, Im sure it will be ok for you. A couple of things immediately came into my mind - when they have got over the shock your older ones will no doubt be very pleased, and will love the new babies when they arrive. Plus the twins will have each other and so the age gap wont matter to them. Good Luck!

It will be fine!

I have (only Wink) four but they are 14, 11, 4 & 2 months. The older two are brilliant with the younger ones - a great help.

Also, they all have their own jobs (except DS2!). DD1 walks the dog. DD2 is the packed lunch queen. They both do the dishwasher and tidying, vaccing etc. DD1 is learning to iron. They both like to help with cooking. They change their own sheets. DS1 just helps where he can - unloading the cutlery baskets etc.

Yes, twins will be hard work. But they would be whether they were dcs 1 and 2 or 5 and 6. And you will have your days free as the others will be at school. It will be fine.

Congratulations!
