A nosey one - What is your food shopping budget per week??

we spend a maximum of £150 a week for 7 of us.

Thats including nappies, frozen food, butchers etc...

Most weeks it comes under that but that is our top limit and if we start to go over that the luxuries and treats get put back on the shelf

I would say between 90 and 120 a week for 6 of us including cleaning products and soap shampoo..., no more nappies though.

7 of us here, 5 teenagers (19,18,17,14,13), we budget on £180. It seems to be going a bit further at the moment as the older DCs have jobs which means they are out of an evening, may eat at work, and are not "snacking" continually, like locusts!

I'd say £600 per month on everything is our maximum, if you haven't got it you can't spend it !

theres 6 of us and its about £90-120 for us thats including all animal foods (we have 4 cats 1 corgi 2 birds 4 giant snails and fish galore lol)

average £80 a week for 5 of us (one still in nappies) and 3 of us have packed lunches so no extras on school dinners or lunches at work (other 2 get hot dinners at nursery on the days they are there)

We spend between £100 and £120 for 6 of us - however:

• both DH and I eat lunch at home as we both work from home most of the time;
  
• the older 2 have school dinners every day and the smaller ones have lunch at nursery 3 days a week;
  
• 2 are still in nappies, so the bill includes nappies, as well as all toiletries, meat, frozen food, etc...
  

It seems to be the average, reading the posts on here...

£250-£300 a week, there is 10 of us. 7 very hungry males too! We also love on an expensive island where food costs are high, so can't really compare.

£80 per week for three of us and two rabbits and all lunches. Plus one extra bottle of milk. We have no freezer though, was much less when we did. I feel dreadful now!

I am very impressed by the low figures people are quoting! What are your secrets!! But I am with PositiveAttitude teenagers eat you out of house and home - nothing seems to fill them. We are on about £180 a week.

£200 per week for 6 of us.Seems like alot.

fidelma I spend around that for 6 of us incl. booze and toiletries and stationery etc. have been frantically cost cutting of late and got it down to around £155. Very impressed how low others are - but I have 3 teens and a very hungry husband and it includes all lunches too. My food bill has risen massively as the children have entered their teens

I think the difference in costs is def related to the age of our children. Teens seem to be un-fillable!!!

Weekly shop is about £120 for 5 of us (3 primary school dc's), but that includes toiletries, cleaning stuff, stationary, etc. Where do you all shop....? I like Morrisons best overall, but we have a nice butchers on the high street.

£80 for 3 adults, 1 teenager and 3 hungry children. We all eat a packed lunch. Try to shop at lidl. Much cheaper than Tesco.

Currently work on £150 for the first shop of the month plus then £30-40 each week after that.

DH currently out of work so is a little less than usual. It never was more than £300 per month anyway though.

We eat very well for that but there's hardly any ready made in that at all so maybe that makes a difference?

I think it will have to go up slightly in July when #4 lands but shouldn't change too much.

6 in our family, no teenagers, two still in nappies. £140-£180 at Tescos. No ready meals in there either.

That includes dp's weekly wine, are you lot not buying booze at all maybe?

Around £110-£120 for 7 of us. 2 adults, 3 teens and 2 pre-teens. Don't buy any booze. Usually asda or tesco's. Could easily spend more and def don't seem to get as much treats as I did this time last year, but we do eat well I would say and there is certainly always plenty in...though not what the children would always want their to be in!!!
