3 DCs in a 2-bed flat

has anyone done this?

The kitchen is tiny but the living room and 2 bedrooms are huge. 2 DC have bunk beds, their room has floorspace for another single bed but a baby would be in with us for 6 months anyway.

We will move eventually but maybe not for another 3 years.

I had 4 kids in a tiny 2 bed house. We now have 5 kids in an even tinier 3 bed house (biggest room 9ft square.)

We manage. It's not ideal. OH and I have a futon in the dining bit of the kitchen and nowhere to keep our clothes.. Kids can't have sleepovers or big toys like kitchens/garages/train sets, although now they are older that's not so much of a problem. It's impossible to keep the place tidy and the older boys hate having no privacy.

In the 2 bed, the three boys shared a room and DD, who was only small, shared with OH and I. If we had been there much longer, we would have moved into the living room so the younger 2 could share.

If you plan to move before the children are older, then it's fine as long as you are prepared for a bit more mess than you would like. But it's not good when they are teenagers, especially if they are mixed sexes.
