CRGH v Evewell

Anyone with experience of either? Evewell seems to have glowing reviews but are very new so no stats on the HFEA site. Has anyone successfully got pregnant with them through IVF?

Reviews for CRGH seem a lot more mixed but their stats for my age group (over 40) are higher than average.

Hi, I've just attended open days for both clinics but no direct experience yet of either. I've chatted to women who have attended both and have good things to say. Evewell seems to concentrate more on customer service but isn't cheap. Out of the two we are thinking of going with CRGH if we get approved for the access fertility funding.

Let me know how you get on, we are looking at starting our first cycle in September.

I have the exact same question! Edging towards CRGH I think given also just turned 40, but going to speak to both.

I think they both have quite different approaches. Aren’t CRGH renowned for quite aggressive approaches (but high success rates) and daily monitoring?

I went to an open day at Evewell and it all seemed quite rushed although the clinic itself was lovely. They were peddling a lot of extras though which would have added massively to the cost (nutritionist etc)

I’m with Evewell, I was with ABC(Create) but after three failed FETS including a miscarriage, I decided it’s the time to move clinics.

Currently in the process of getting my embryos transferred over. Have you tried signing up to their open days?

I today booked a session with each of them (evewell for next Monday and CRGH the following Monday) so they don’t have long waiting times to meet the team etc

@Youngatheart00 I think you are referring to ARGC.

I know people who've had treatment at both clinics and were happy but it's a very personal choice (and of course the outcome tends to affect the perception!).

Shamoo - how did your sessions go? I need to book in some virtual open days with both.

I'm tempted by the multi cycle package at CRGH but have come across some very scathing reviews of the clinic. Evewell sounds great and if there were more reviews of it out there/independent stats, I'd probably go with them. So, I still don't know!

JeNeBaguetteRien - when you say you know people who have had treatment at both do you mean Evewell and CRGH? (Not ARGC) As I've not come across anyone saying they've had a baby successfully via Evewell yet.

Hi @lostindreams yes I meant Evewell and CRGH, don't think I know anyone who's had treatment at ARGC.
The baby via Evewell is quite a few months old now and very cute.

Yay! An Evewell success story. Glad it worked for your friend.

Went to CRGH, no baby or diagnosis. Poor support when l physically felt very unwell after a fresh transfer failed, they were condescending and unhelpful. So my review of them is less than glowing. There might be an issue with 1 or both of us apparently. Hmm no shit, l could have worked that out for myself a year or so ago Hmm

Sorry to hear that @WhatKatyDidNxt. I am a bit wary of all the bad reviews. Are you with another clinic now?

Heartbreaking and angering to read about your experience. Even more so as I am in the middle of my stimming cycle with them. If I get any embryos they need to be frozen anyway. I may go on my merry way and finish off the process at ARGC. I am getting less than inspired by my own experience and the opinions I see shared.

Good evening, we are considering to use CRGH or Newlife in Greece for IVF. Can anyone share their experience, give any tips. Are there any consultants that you would recommend or avoid at these clinics. Thank you

The only thing to be mindful of with Evewell is pricing. We'd spoken to them at length and were very close to commencing treatment with them a few months ago. The whole team is of course very professional and all that, but the treatment cost can be MUCH more expensive than you think and it's not clear at all until you run the calculations yourself.

Initially, we'd wanted to pursue a more comprehensive IVF protocol. When they sent us the cost estimates, it unfortunately didn't reflect the cost for our scenario but just included everything and the kitchen sink. There was no total either, which was a bit frustrating. Eventually, I called them and had them run through, line by line, what each line item actually entailed, took out the costs that weren't relevant to our case, added ones that actually were (there were quite a few surprising lines that I thought didn't apply to us but actually did).

By the time I finally added up everything, I got a shock because we were thinking that with our £10k/round budget we'd be ok, but the way they went about it that round for us (including freezing of spare embryos) would have in fact cost £14k (!!) which was far more than we were prepared to pay for a single round of IVF.

I know it's meant to be a top (albeit new) clinic, but there was an element of frustration that the trust cost wasn't clear until the patient to the initiative to thoroughly understand the costs, and it wasn't part of their standard procedure (or if it was, somehow we'd slipped through the cracks and hadn't been given the explanation).

It obviously wasted a lot of time as we'd spent a good chunk of time signing their stack of consent forms. Just glad that we caught that issue later and now we're with a clinic that's well within our budget and pretty good based on our experience so far (and also has the added convenience of just digitally signing forms instead of hand-filling in about 200 pages of forms at the Evewell).

So just make sure you understand the costs fully before you sign up. x

(I should clarify that the cost estimate they'd sent was meant to be costs for our "treatment plan", which is why I was surprised it included the kitchen sink)

@lostindreams sorry l overlooked your comment. We are considering option abroad, quite possibly in Greece or Czech Republic.

Please Please Please...whoever you use always watch out for the additional cost of the Medications- if they are not included in the package. My sons costs on top of the normal treatment plan advertised was nearly 40% of the total cost

Wecare365 · 20/11/2020 17:57

eventually he asked for a prescription which they did not readily offer and shopped around and found some cheaper places using the same supplier.it was well worth the search

@indigocloud who did you end up with instead?

Report
Wecare365 · 22/11/2020 17:40

sorry just saw this. I just spoke to him and he tells me these ( See below browser entry) are now the most competitive and he confirmed that the Clinics are not really forthcoming about having a choice in choosing where your medication can come from- but always get a prescription from them which costs less than £ 25 and you will always save much more than this and with no extra tress or hassle . Good luck

@bigbluesea ABC fertility as we met their criteria. Pretty happy with them so far :)

That's great, @indigocloud! I'm way too old for ABC sadly. Good luck! It seems like most clinics have similar prices to Evewell in London.

We are looking at CRGH for IVF. Has anyone had any experience with CRGH? Which consultant would you recommend? We want someone used to treating women in their late 30's with good outcomes. All advice welcome!

Hi

I had a consultation with Dr Saab, it was thorough, but the procedure we quoted would cost nearly 20k, I have had consultations with New Life in Greece, they have been fantastic, efficient with responses and answered any questions I had. CRGH's finance department have a nightmare to deal with, I have to chase to get my invoices, why should I be chasing them? They seem unorganised.

I posted earlier about CRGH, and had a round with them in November. The customer care was pretty non existent, I never even met my consultant in person, one of the meds was left off my protocol, you never see the same person twice, egg collection was like a never ending factory of people. Would not recommend! We moved to the evewell and starting a cycle next month and pleased so far. It's not cheap but you pay for the individualised service.
