Infertility

I don't think I can do this

I just feel so fed up by the lack of contact from the clinic.

I do want to try the IVF but I'm not coping well with the lack of information from my clinic despite the emails and phone calls.

Which clinic are you with? NHS or private? It's hard and I'm lucky mine has been very proactive and it's a shame not every clinic has responded so well x

Sorry to hear you're feeling this way. Don't give up hope. We can all share the same frustration with you. It IS incredibly difficult, in so many ways.

There should be a patient coordinator you should be able to email/phone and express your concerns to about lack of contact. They usually are very reassuring as they know exactly how stressful it can be. I had to do this with my clinic but once I did they were very helpful.

I have finally had some news from the clinic. Had phoned several times and emailed.

Was at the point of a group session which was booked for April and had a start date of May/June depending on cylce.

They said that they are starting the process up again in June/ early July. Said that if we keep checking their website and to call back in a few weeks.

Yay!!!!! That’s great news!

It’s such a loooooong process anyway and with the situation at the moment it just seems like so much more waiting.

At my clinic they are treating couples needing urgent fertility treatment due to cancer and medical problems first.

Then they’ll treat FET and patients whom were mid way through and then they will start new patients.

Positive that they have called though.

Are you working/ have you got things to keep you busy as that’s what helps me! Otherwise my brain just thinks about it day and night which isn’t too healthy! Xxx

@thefishthatcouldwish I know what you mean, this is a stressful enough process without having to continually chase. Hope you get more of a definite date soon

I had the news after phoning again. @UncleBrynsfishingtrip yes I am in work full time.

Its been a rough three months between the death of my dad lockdown and the fact I pushed back my treatment a month due to dad being ill.

I know I'm overly anxious at present.

Thanks for the support all.

Bless you. Such a hard hard time you are having. I am sure your Dad would be VERY proud of you and how you are coping.

It’s completely normal to want to feel I’m control of something at the moment we have no control at all.

During the last 3 years we’ve been having various fertility tests and it’s taken soooo long to get to this point but the each day is a little step closer.

I try to think about what I CAN do right now to help me.
Walks, phonecall to a friend, garden, baking.

Thanks all
Thanks @UncleBrynsfishingtrip I have such guilt and sadness that my dad would never have the chance to meet any potential child.

Also @UncleBrynsfishingtrip are you Gavin and Stacey fan?

@Wesstywoo thanks I wish so much to have a date.

Yesssssss a big Gavin and Stacey fan! 🤣

I know how you feel. We have had a few family members pass away.

In a way your Dad’s strength and spirit will always be there though in the things he taught you. You will then be able to tell your child about Grandad. 💗

My parents told me lots about my Grandad’s whom both passed away when they were only 7. I have grown up feeling like I know then despite never actually meeting them.

Really tough for you though and I’m sure when you do get a date it will help you lots. Gosh this journey is hard isn’t it xx
