Secondary infertility after csection?

just wondered if anyone had been diagnosed with secondary infertility after a previous c section? My son was born via emergency c section under GA so it was all very rush. I had an infection afterwards and bled for 16 weeks. I had this treated and an ultrasound which was all clear. I’m worried if maybe there is some connection to this as to why I can’t get pregnant again. I googled (stupidly) and it said c sections can cause infertility? My doctor said there was no link but has not been helpful. All our investigations were fine, I ovulate and have a regular 29 day cycle. I feel so down and want to look into going private when clinics are back up and runnning.
Many thanks for reading x

My c section was/is the cause of the majority of my fertility issues - I've now lost both my tubes to ruptured ectopic pregnancies and permanently infertile - undoubtedly caused by a build of a scar tissue and adhesions post c section.

I thought something was wrong as soon as I started ovulating again - when I stopped breastfeeding ovulation became very very painful - to the point I could barely walk and my stomach swelled up - it was a sign that my insides were a mess!

We are doing IVF now.

I’ve never even considered the idea but now you mention it maybe there is a link! I’ve been suffering with secondary infertility coming up to 5 years.

I’ve done 3 rounds of Ivf and my final round now I’ve just woke up an starting bleeding what I think is the start of a miscarriage 😪😪😪😪

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted that’s awful, so sorry to hear you’ve been In so much pain and experienced ectopics that must be so hard. Good luck with your ivf.

@Mctm123 Maybe there is a link for you to, it could be nothing but it’s all I could think of so was interested in other woman’s experiences. Did you have any other explanation for your SI? I’m so sorry to hear you might be going through a miscarriage :(

This is me, albeit post ERPC when I miscarried when we were TTC second DC. I knew something was up as my period was so scant and the pain on ovulation and during the start of AF was excruciating. It's called Asherman's if you have adhesions and it needs to be dealt with very carefully as the treatment can also be the cause. There is a great website www.ashermans.org/home/ with great info as well as the doctors who specialise in it. Unbelievably some gynaes have never heard of it so say risk of d&c/c-section has no risk. Good luck to you on your journey.
