It could be an implantation bleed, it's not bright red fresh blood, fingers crossed all is fine

you can have light spotting/small bleeds throughout early stages of pregnant, it doesn't mean anything is wrong. It's horrible but you won't know for sure until you have a scan

Pregnancy is counted from the first day of your last period. Three weeks pregnant would be very early for a pregnancy test to show positive.

Do you mean you are three weeks from your last period or do you mean you are three weeks from the date you expected the period you missed? The latter would make you more like 7 weeks pregnant (assuming a 4 week ish cycle).

Bleeding in easy pregnancy is common. Sometimes it is the start of a miscarriage, sometimes it is just bleeding.

If you are three weeks from your last period then I think a doctor would advise you to wait it out but seek medical help if it becomes painful, as this would really just be an early period.

If you are three weeks from your missed period, and so more like 7 weeks pregnant, then your GP could refer you to your local Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit, who would advise and probably scan you to see what might be going on. If you think you are 7 weeks pregnant then ring your GP or google Early Pregnancy Unit and your town to see if you can self refer.

When was your last period? And are your periods normally about 28 days apart (from first day to first day)?

A last period starting on 21st February would make you 4 weeks 5 days pregnant as your initial date. This could be changed later depending on scan measurements, but at this point you would normally go with last period and so 4 weeks 5 days for you.

I don't know whether your local EPAU would see you yet with those dates. If you'd like to follow up the bleeding with a medical person then I'd ring either your GP or your EPAU (if they take self referrals) and tell that you're 4 weeks 5 days and experiencing bleeding.

There's really no way to know whether this is the start of a miscarriage or just early pregnancy bleeding. Only time will tell, which makes wary pregnancy a really stressful time sometimes Sad

Good luck Thanks
